The urban free zone of Plateau de Haye

Nancy has an Urban Free Zone on the Plateau de Haye. Businesses within this zone enjoy tax exemptions. The scheme was initially set to run until 2014 but has been extended until 2020 under the 2015 - 2020 City Contract, as part of the "Territoires Entrepreneurs" (Entrepreneurial Regions) scheme.

Urban Free Zones give businesses that are starting up or developing within priority areas defined by Decree of State, and taking on employees from these areas, the opportunity to benefit from exemptions from tax on profits.

One sector of Nancy is a beneficiary of the scheme. It is located right in the heart of the Plateau de Haye sector. It encompasses the districts of Champ-le-Bœuf in Laxou, Aulnes in Maxéville and Haut-du-Lièvre in Nancy.

Between its establishment in 2004 and the year 2014, the Urban Free Zone has seen an increase in the number of establishments :

  • from 392 to 610, i.e. an increase of more than 55% across the whole of the Plateau de Haye Entrepreneurial Region
  • from 239 to 309, i.e. an increase of 30% across the area in Nancy alone.
