The new EHPAD nursing home

The new EHPAD by Rives de Meurthe - an organisation providing long-term sheltered housing for the elderly - is currently under construction in Place Cincinnati, a rapidly developing area right in the heart of the city. It is scheduled to begin providing a high quality service in late 2018.

Providing regional care for the elderly, in conjunction with the Département of Meurthe et Moselle and the Grand Est Regional Health Agency, the new EHPAD will take over the Notre Maison establishment in 2018.

  • It will house 152 residents, with 28 of the beds reserved for people suffering from Alzheimer's or associated cognitive problems.
  • It will house 152 residents, with 28 of the beds reserved for people suffering from Alzheimer's or associated cognitive problems.
  • It will have all the services already on offer in the current building, but these will be more modern and fit-for-purpose, in a comfortable and welcoming environment.

The ground floor of the four-storey building will have a hall designed as an indoor street; and will provide day care facilities with a designated enclosed garden, administrative offices, healthcare services including physiotherapy rooms, whirlpool bathtub, a dentist's chair, etc. There will also be a spa, multimedia space, hairdressing salon, grocery shop, cafeteria, restaurant, lounge and a multi-purpose entertainment room. A terrace will lead on from the restaurant and onto the garden where residents can get some fresh air, walk around, and practice sports.

All 22m2 rooms will be designed with modern comfort in mind: a private bathroom with individual shower, a wardrobe and fixtures on the walls for residents to hang up their own pictures.

The rooms will each be equipped with a fibre-optic point if residents wish to have internet and telephone access. Terrestrial digital TV will be free.
